Dana
mother of 6 year old Nate with a diagnosis of FEVR (Familial Exudative Vitreoretinopathy)
I read Anat Baniel’s book “Kids Beyond Limits” even before I had Nate and then when we realized he was having some challenges, I searched to see if there was a practitioner near us. The practitioner I found helped a lot but wasn’t the best fit for us so when we wanted to work with this method again, I searched and was delighted to find Judy. The testimonials on her website convinced me it would be worth the drive.
Nate was having trouble keeping his body relaxed, carrying on conversations and understanding his body (right, left etc.).
Over the two weeks we worked with Judy, Nate seems even more content and happy. He seems very alert but also more relaxed. Nate is able to coordinate and open heavy doors. He walks a bit taller and can be still for extended periods especially after Judy guided him to relax his body.
I love how the Anat Baniel Method® holds at its core a deep belief in the potential of children. I appreciate so much how Judy talks to Nate as a competent human and holds high expectations of him.
To other parents I would like to say that we found it to be worth the time commitment and money. Not only did Nate benefit but I also did. I was reminded of different ways to play with him, talk to him and how important it is to reinforce independent skills. I also found it good for my nervous system to be able to watch my son work with someone who got the best out of him!
