Alex
father of 2 year old Oliver with Perisylvian Polymicrogyria
My son Oliver began having tonic seizures at the age of 21 months. These continued for a few months which seemed to halt any motor skill or cognitive development.
Upon recommendations from friends and other professionals, we took Oliver to see Judy Cheng at Move To Learn Therapy. After reading Anat Baniel’s ‘Kids Beyond Limits’ we had a pretty good idea what to expect. We read that we should ‘expect miracles’. We can pleasantly say we were not disappointed.
After the 3 Introductory Sessions, we noticed Oliver is moving to stand with greater confidence. He can flex and loosen his toes and freely shake his arms. There is an increased awareness when he’s mouthing objects. He can now shift from a “W” sitting position to side sitting. There is a sharper look in Oliver’s eyes and he drools less.
Seeing growth and improvement inspires us. It shows that change can happen quickly, and that with effort and an open mind anything is possible.
Judy’s demeanour and attitude is wonderful. Her willingness and ability to communicate to us what she was doing as she worked with Oliver is extremely helpful. This allows us, Oliver’s parents and nanny, who attended the session to share in a constructive experience, we being the most active people in Oliver’s life.
We are genuinely impressed by Judy’s joy and her ability to speak directly to Oliver, with him understanding her!
