Joelle

mother of 22 month old Morgane with a diagnosis of HIE (Hypoxic-Ischemic Encephalopathy)

I became interested in the Anat Baniel Method after reading comments from parents in special needs Facebook groups who said that the method had helped their children.

With her physiotherapy training, Judy came recommended by other parents on Facebook who have worked with her and said she was great and would prescribe home exercises. Judy quickly answered my questions and appointment requests when I contacted her.

Morgane, our daughter, was able to sit (w or legs out), crawl, pull to stand, and cruise. Morgane was unable to sit in side-sitting or with her legs crossed. She stands on her toes and cannot keep her feet flat. This is not optimal for her further development, i.e. learning to walk with a normal gait, having normal mobility in the hips, etc. This caused worries in our family.

After Morgane’s therapy sessions with Judy, she was experimenting with different ways of sitting and she had more mobility in her hips and ankles. It gave her more options to move and explore.

I had thought the Anat Baniel Method would be more ”cryptic” (difficult to understand what the therapist is doing) but on the contrary it always makes so much sense, especially since Judy explained everything that she did, and the reason why she was doing it, and why we should be doing it also.

This is one of the best investments I can make for Morgane’s development right now. It seems like finally someone understands what is going on and is giving me a plan to help my daughter improve from here!

Latest Update

Morgane is doing very well. She started to take more steps and is now fully walking unassisted, even on sand and wood shavings at the park!

I am sure Judy and ABM helped her gain more movement in her body and learn to walk more smoothly.
