Michelle

mother of almost 2 year old Griffin with Cerebral Palsy

Our son Griffin was able to roll, army crawl and feed himself with utensils using both hands, sometimes requiring help with his right hand. He was yet unable to sit by himself, crawl on his hands and knees or pull himself up to stand or walk.

It has been very stressful dealing with the effects of cerebral palsy. Griffin sometimes gets frustrated. He is very heavy and carrying him up and down stairs and handling him can be very physically demanding.

We wanted to give Griffin the best chance at reaching his full potential. We decided to work with Judy Cheng at Move to Learn Therapy because of her combination of the Anat Baniel Method (ABM) and Physiotherapy training. We felt it was a big added value to work with someone who had all that knowledge and both perspectives.

After Griffin’s 7 initial therapy sessions, both my husband and I definitely noticed him being ‘looser’ and more relaxed in his body as did his Physical Therapists. We also feel that Griffin is rolling even more than before and can now do it in both directions, as he pleases.

His army crawling became more fluid after his first intensive series with Judy and he now gets into all kinds or corners and is even able to navigate himself out of a tight room or space.

I have already recommended the Anat Baniel Method to a few other parents as I could only imagine what ABM could do for their children!

Latest Update

Hi Judy!

I wanted to send you this and tell you how grateful I am for the work you do with Griffin. This is not the first time he has cemented a new skill after an Intensive with you and this one was a huge one for us! With acquiring the ability to get himself into sitting he will be able to play on the floor independently and change positions as he wishes. As you can see it is still quite effortful but I know that with practice he will continue to refine this new skill and gain greater ease!

As you can see we are both very excited ?
