Heather
mother of almost 9 month old Ava with Down Syndrome
My daughter Ava was able to play on her tummy and push up to straight arms. She occasionally rolls over but was unable to sit without help or hold her feet with her hands. I heard about the Anat Baniel Method from other parents in the Down’s Syndrome community who have had excellent results.
I decided to work with Judy Cheng at Move To Learn Therapy based on a few factors. Judy’s website was so professional and her informative newsletters gave us confidence. Also, our insurance will partially cover treatment for physiotherapy.
Ava was noticeably more active and moving with more variations after her 3 Introductory Sessions. Her body is noticeably less rigid and more open to movement. I was surprised by how much Ava enjoys her therapy sessions!
Since Judy started working with Ava, I’m more aware of her movements, and subtle changes in her abilities. It is obvious she’s able to practice more movements as she moves differently after sessions. Ava can now grab her feet with her hands and sit on her own for short periods.
It’s a joy to see Ava progress and we feel like we’re empowered and helping her to learn.
To other parents:
Definitely go for it! We’ve noticed changes and are looking forward to seeing the results of further sessions.
