Stella
mother of 5 year old Andy with Autism
My son Andy wasn’t able to jump. He walked awkwardly and tilted his head to the left often. Andy could not alternate his legs when he walked down the stairs. He only has a few words and is not able to communicate what he wants verbally. People have a difficult time understanding him and Andy may get frustrated.
I read Anat Baniel’s “Kids Beyond Limits” and like the essentials behind her work. After the therapy sessions with Judy Cheng, I noticed Andy sleeps and eats better. He started to alternate his legs when he walks down the stairs. He is more co-ordinated when he walks and his head is more centred. Andy became more adventurous on the playground, climbing structures that he was scared to climb on before.
After a session during which Judy taught Andy how to crawl more effectively, he got on the floor at home and started crawling, practicing what he just learned. Judy is really good at observing Andy and following his interests. She doesn’t force Andy and he enjoys learning during his therapy sessions.
